DIGITARIA

Digitaria

Daniela Caldellas and Daniel Albinati are the names behind Digitaria. They come from Brazil and started playing together as a four-piece band in 2004, making dance music experiments with a big range of influences, creating beautiful and unusual tunes. The philosophy behind their music never changed with the years — electronic music should have no boundaries, creativity and feelings are the only things that matter. There must be no rules for creation.

Their first release was ‘Teen Years’, in 2006, on German label Gigolo Records. The single became a massive hit in the scene and their first album was released, followed by a huge tour in Brazil and Europe. The track was quickly licensed to a Ministry of Sound compilation and got a flawless remix from the Swedish project Zoo Brazil. Sure enough a good start.

Since then, a lot of things happened. The band became a duo, they made more music, a lot of remixes, a second album and a non stop touring in every possible club and festival in Brazil and South America.

In 2011 they met Jamie Jones in their hometown and gave him some unreleased tracks. Soon they joined the roster of Hot Creations label with the Masochist EP by Digitaria and Funky Fat. The four tracks got massive support from DJs from around the globe, climbing the charts quickly. Some months later Digitaria released the track ‘Reaction’, a collaboration with German duo Adana Twins that had the same destiny — another lovely club hit.

Shine EP on Hot Creations (with remixes from Morgan Geist and wAFF), another lovely blend of dancing beats, ethereal vocals, fat bass lines and deep emotional lyrics, the elements that make Digitaria a unique project. In the meanwhile, they have been playing all around the world, from Brazil to Russia, from Ibiza to Istanbul, in dreamlike clubs, parties and festivals like The Warehouse Project, Paradise at DC10, Creamfields, Dream Valley, D-Edge and Warung, to name just a few.

Now, in 2015 they move to Barcelona to explore Europe scene where they already released its latest album "Little Girl, Little Boy" also being required for Pete Tong´s "All Gone" radioshow doing a scpecial mix.

Their music goes from purely dancefloor tracks to romantic vocal tunes — sometimes both at once. A new chapter in their history, indeed. Expect the unexpected; the best is yet to come.

ALEX UNDER

Jose de Divina

The deepest meaning of ‘collage’, defined by Max Ernst, is the general application of Arthur Rimabaud’s ‘delirium’: “I accustomed myself to simple hallucination; I saw quite deliberately a mosque instead of a factory, a drummer's school conducted by angels, carriages on the highways of the sky, a salon at the bottom of a lake: monsters, mysteries, a vaudeville poster raising horrors before my eyes”.

We could describe collage as an alchemic compound of two or more heterogeneous elements, derivate by their unexpected approximation generated deliberately by the search of systematic confusion and distorted perception. That’s Alex Unders' musical universe. Based in Madrid, this producer is the ‘CMYK’ label manager. He is also one of the men behind ‘Apnea’ and ‘Bemysheep’, and one of the founders of Net28 (the net behind these labels and others like ‘Cyclical Tracks’ and ‘Pulpa’).

Alex Under confirmed himself as the new reality of the best international techno, sometimes being minimal and deep, sometimes hard and aggressive, but always original. He creates a sonic collage combining techno, trance and house elements while he constructs complex rhythms that arise from the dance floor taking the listeners to a higher level where emotions, depth, mind & body blend in a unique equation. Alex Under will intrigue beyond your perception...

‘Dispositivos de mi Granja’ is Alex Unders' first LP (2005), released by the prestigious German label 'Trapez', where he already released three EP’s, one of them shared with John Tejada remixing Oliver Hacke. In the near future we have ‘Collage’, a 12” that will be released on Plus 8, Richie Hawtins' label. Alex Under performed live in the best national and international venues (Berlin, Moscow, London, Sonar 2005, Fib 2005, Zurich, Cologne...), his live act being considered with the top in the electronic dance music scene.

SHALL OCIN

Shall Ocin

Argentinian Nicholas Abalos aka Shall Ocin has a long history with music that dates right back to his childhood. As a youth he played the guitar and electric bass, and was in contact with a myriad of musical styles from classic 80s sounds to rich funk via many distorted genres in between. It was in 1998, though, that he discovered DJ culture and turntables and so began his journey as a DJ.

With a contagious knack for laying down sets that are always married to an essential groove. He began turning heads of promoters in clubs around the world from Spain to France to Germany. In 2006 he decided to settle in Valencia, Spain and began producing his own music. It is often techno and is always music that is richly produced, full of feeling and more than able to get dance floors moving.

In 2010 came his first release under the name "PANEOH" and before long he was topping charts everywhere and appearing on labels such as Culprit and Leftroom amongst others like Ellum Audio. Now a touring DJ who plays across America and Europe at major clubs and festivals every weekend.

New World Punx blows up Space Ibiza

clandestin 2015 07 28 1clandestin 2015 07 28 3clandestin 2015 07 28 4clandestin 2015 07 28 2On July 27th it was time to see the duo Trance reference in Ibiza. Ferry Corsten with his great friend Markus Schulz, joined together once again in the DJ booth of Space Ibiza under their AKA New World Punx. Lucky Charmes, Jacob Van Hage and Vicetone topped an incredible lineup for Monday night.

While everything was ready in the Main Room, Ramón Castells carried on his shoulders the responsibility to manage the party in the Salón. The atmosphere in this room gives a lot to talk about every Monday at the Club. There are no barriers or prejudice, only music playing so you wouldn’t have to stop dancing outdoors.

First, Lucky Charmes and right-after, Vicetone, opened the ban on explosive rhythms in Clandestin pres. Full On Ibiza. The two sets of these great artists made the public understand that what was coming was not anything ordinary.

The first of these guys offered a House session in the beginning, but as the night got darker he was played much Deeper sounds. Ruben and Victor, better known as Vicetone, opted for a more Progressive House with constant highs and lows that blew the audience away.

The highlight came at 2:30am with New World Punx. Everything was set for what would be a legendary performance. The union forged in 2013 packed the Terraza. Ferry and Markus sparked madness as they came on stage. The Funktion One operated at full power and hit after hit the audience wouldn’t stop dancing. One of the highlights of the evening was when “Memories” was played, a new track with Cara Salimando, making a great duo. An electric session that brought together music, great artists, a great atmosphere and above all, the audiovisual potential of Space Ibiza.

Jacob Van Hage took to witness after the loud explosion of NWP. With the difficult task of keeping the dance floor moving after a set by Markus and Ferry, the DJ, was not intimidated, but he gave free rein to his creativity so that the party did not falter one iota in Space Ibiza.

The first of the two dates exclusively to Space Ibiza has with New World Punx is now history. But you can still relive a big party at the most awarded club of all time. Buy your tickets for Clandestin pres. Full On Ibiza and let Trance run through your veins.

1portada vagabundos2Vagabundos 26 07 2015 by Ana Ruiz 66

What a great way to celebrate our 26th Birthday yesterday! A heck of a party by the Vagabundos crew, with Luciano’s roaring set being the icing on the cake for the night!

Back in 1989, our dear friend and mentor Pepe Rosello took over this establishment in Platja d’en Bossa and quickly turned it into one of the best clubs in the world.

Proof of this, Space Ibiza went on to win the title of “Best Global Club” at the International Dance Music Awards in 2005, 2006, 2012 and 2013. Having reached out to new territories, Space these days has opened a franchising of clubs in New York, Moscow and Menorca, always delivering the highest quality in Music and Sound.

The Cadenza man gave his 110% yesterday with a set full of melodies and catchy grooves for the special occasion: a selection that ranged from his iconic ‘Bomberos’ track to his renditions of Nils Frahm’s masterpieces, it went down a storm in the club’s Main Room, now officially Vagabundos’ room of choice at Space Ibiza. Ovum owner Josh Wink delivered his usual stylish vibes and trippy atmospheres, the highlight of his set being a contemporary re-work of his classic tune ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’.

Cadenza’s rising talent and Nordstern Basel resident Gianni Callipari warmed up the room early on to great effect: his deep, synth-infused melodies were spot on for the time he hit the stage. Throwing in some still unreleased material from his upcoming Cadenza EP was a great move: the crowd gave an enthusiastic response to the tracks, so things are looking good for the young DJ and Producer right now.

Big happy times in the Terrace as House Music legend Erick Morillo headlined the night there: the ‘I Like To Move It’ star rocked the dancefloor as usual, cracking out some old favourites and some super summer anthems mixed with some dirty House in between.

Get Physical’s own M.A.N.D.Y.’s trademark hook-driven and late 70s German Electro-inspired Tech House was a winner too last night: the duo gave a wild performance that spiced up the vibe in the room, with the people on the dancefloor clearly having a blast. Their remix of Marc Houle’s Business released on Minus was the top track of their set by far.

Los Refrescos’ (a.k.a. Dandy Jack and Argenis Brito) association with Vagabundos dates back to the very early days of Cadenza and Luciano’s career: embodying the sound of Latin America’s House and Techno, the duo brought these influences over to Europe through the Berlin scene, sowing the seeds of what became almost a genre in itself. Having them on stage in the Sunset Room last night was a truly unique experience.

Swiss sensation Ezikiel performed in the Sunset Room as well: the Jamaican born DJ delivered a tribal set mixed with some Dub sounds and Blue Beat rhythms. It goes without saying that the crowd loved it, everyone with a big smile on their face.

Vagabundos’ adventure continues at Space Ibiza on August 2nd with LucianoBill Patrick and more artists. Buy your tickets and welcome the hottest month dancing to the best electronic music.
