Cirillo & LTJ Bukem tonight at Carl Cox' party
LTJ Bukem is the pseudonym of Danny Williamson. Danny -and his label Good Looking Records- is one of the best exponents of the drum and bass and electronica music scene. Everything in life has been about music for Danny. He studied piano from an early age, which made classical music the soundtrack of his childhood. Thanks to one of his music teachers, English was introduced early on to him in the world of jazz, a fusion style that has influenced his work from the beginning. In the mid-80s he first got introduced to the clubscene and in 1987 he started becoming very popular for his unique DJ sets. His starring appearance at the legendary Raindance in London, where he performed before 10.000 people, determined the way of his brilliant and unconventional career as a DJ.
SafeHouse Management, promoter of Join Our Revolution, invited the great artist to the night of Carl Cox at Space Ibiza three seasons ago. LTJ Bukem returns on Tuesday 8 September on the terrace with Cirillo.
Cirillo was the most famous resident of the legendary Circo Loco at DC10, and one of the best representatives of the Italian electronic sound. Cirillo is a formidable producer and remixer. His ability to work different styles from techno to progressive trance, goa trance, house and acidhouse, have facilitated his work flying around the globe.
Bushwacka is another addition to Join Our Revolution this week, avid lover of everything and able to fuse underground techno, tech-house, electro and breakbeat with blues, classical music soundtracks and up-to-date twenty-first century music.
Alongside these established musicians is Nicole Moudaber. Nicole is a multifaceted artist who is creative, and loves to express this characteristic with all available means in her environment. Music is one of them. Miss Moudaber is a breath of fresh air, and has the generational support from SafeHouse Management. Personally she describes her sound as “deep, sexy and driving”. Definitely one to watch!
And to round off, Carl Cox, the 'Best Techno DJ' in the last 25 years according Mixmag readers, will finish up with his now legendary double set. First in the Sunset and then to the Main Room.
Join Our Revolution has excelled this year, in addition to the acclaimed DJs above, this year it has undoubtedly had some of the best DJs of the past 20 years, Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Fatboy Slim, Sasha and John Digweed,.
A night of partying and five reasons to Join Our Revolution!

The Chemical Brothers & Space Ib
Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons fittingly met in history class at Manchester University in 1988, initially as the Dust Brothers and later as The Chemical Brothers they combined to contribute, in no small way, in the development of the dance music scene as we know it today. They have successfully crossed from the underground to the mainstream with ease without sacrificing any of their credibility in the process.
In the studio, The Chemical Brothers have been responsible for a slew of genre challenging, groundbreaking ranging from early tracks such as ‘Exit Planet Dust’, chart smashes such as ‘Hey Boy, Hey Girl’ and ‘Push The Button’, to collaborations such as Surrender, featuring vocals from Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie.
While there is no doubt that they have a unique ability when it comes to penning music, it’s on stage where the duo really come to the fore; equally at ease behind the decks of an intimate venue or headlining huge festivals in front of tens of thousands of fans.
Mark Broadbent, We Love Space director had this to say about The Chemical Brothers return,
“We Love… Space is the only place the Chemical Brothers will play due to our long standing relationship with them and their management, plus the fact that we asked every year for the last ten years. I think they thought it would be easier just to say yes and they did last year and once you have played for We Love there is no other party or venue to play in Ibiza.
“The Chems are noisy buggers maintaining a youthful sound and energy, producers of some of the finest acid house music to come out of the UK in the last 15 years, whether on remix duty or musicians in their own right they have delivered quality productions that are far ahead of the game. When a new Chemical Brothers tune comes along you can rest assured it will be the biggest tune of the summer at Space”.
Sunday 16 August gives you a chance to get up close and personal with one of the true greats of our scene, see you on the dancefloor!

Goodbye Revolution!
The American DJ has not been in Ibiza this summer, so the last night of Carl Cox at Space Ibiza will be memorable. Tenaglia is considered by many as the greatest American DJ. He was born in Brooklyn and has been DJing from the 70's. Besides DJing and producing, he has remixed some of the leading pop artists including Madonna, Blondie and Pet Shop Boys.
Danny will be DJing on the Terrace with Gilles Peterson, while Carl Cox will be the master of the Main Room. Carl will finish his eighth season at the club on Tuesday, giving himself totally to the audience with a special set from one in the morning until dawn. 6 hours in front of the decks to show why, for many, he is 'the king'.
John Digweed, Pendulum (DJ set), James Lavelle, Kevin Saunderson, Jon Rundell, Inner City (live), Sasha, Moby, DJ Marky, Roni Size, Nic Fanciulli, Norman Cook, Yousef, Cristian Varela, Adam Freeland, Alex Metric , Loco Dice, Satoshi Tomiie, Mark Knight, Elio Riso, Josh Wink, Dave Spoon Andy C are some of the figures who have participated in Join Our Revolution '09 with over 12 wonderful nights. Some long-established artists, and some young up and coming DJ talent have participated this summer, bringing young people together to enjoy the music, art, and style, producing new music and ideas for the next generation, in whose hands lies the future of dance music.
The quintessential party on a Tuesday in Ibiza since 2002, will close this 2009 on Tuesday 22 September.
See you next year for more surprises. We love you Carl!

Wally López speaks about be
Be is now at a good place, with all the rooms open and an incredible DJ line-up week after week, are you happy to be part of this project?
I'm super happy to be part of this residence. Last year we were able to do our own night at Space Ibiza, but with Danny Tenaglia! When we did the last party, my mind was already thinking about 2009. I always give the best of me and more, I give 300%.
House, techno or tech-house? Where do you feel more comfortable?
Definitely house, and on the Terrace!
Space. What is your opinion of the club?
It´s the Ferrari F1 team for the clubs.
What´s going on with your music?
I get my issue with Zoo Brazil with remixes by Steve Mac and Mark Broom. I'm doing collaborations with Glenn Morrison, Paul Harris and Patric the Funk, and trying to finish my album artist.
Vueling to Ibiza. What about your new CD?
It is my second record with Vueling, mixed with my favorite place on the planet.
What is ...?
Ibiza
Many people say that Wally Lopez's success is based on a good marketing strategy and communication. What's true in this?
I decided to dedicate fully to my music when I was 13 years, 24 / 7 music, I aimed at setting some goals that then started to appear, I love my career and have dedicated my entire life to it. Marketing is just one of my hobbies.
Those who want to imitate or emulate many of our marketing actions are wrong, because ours are the result of the joy of doing something new emerging from deep inside us, and always wanting to do it for ourselves ... That energy/love is then transmitted, and the joy comes to the people through the music...
What do you think is the key to your success?
To continue knowing that I am a guy from San Blas .... To keep remembering and knowing where I come from, and why I love doing this job, to not change within myself.
Fashion, advertising, music. Should be multi disciplinary in current times?
I do not know what to be, I do not have the magic formula. I just do what I like, and what feels right, so I can put much passion into it.
Do you like movies or TV?
I love it.
Besides Madonna, what artist would you like to work, do something cool?
Depeche Mode, Moby, Coldplay, U2 ...
What´s your favourite magazine or newspaper?
Esquire
Design favorite?
John Galliano
MOBY joins the REVOLUTION
Moby... Born Richard Melville Hall, 11 September 1965, Harlem, New York City. He´s a New York-based DJ and recording artist, and for those who do not know, a philosophy graduate.
One of the leading figures in the commercialisation of techno music, in 1991 Moby released his first single 'Go', into the UK Top 10. Although that appealed to both mainstream and club audiences, the release of 'I Feel It'/'Thousand' in 1993 was yet more bizarre. The latter track was classified by The Guinness Book Of Records as the fastest single ever, climaxing at 1,015 bpm.
Moby's introduction to dance music began in the mid-80s, when he started playing in NY at clubs such as Red Zone, MK and The Palladium: "I was drawn to it, I started reading about it, started hanging out in clubs. For me house music was the synthesis of the punk era."
Play in 1999 has been one of his biggest hits. Moby has sold more than 20 million copies and has played at more than 3.000 concerts throughout his career. As well as the live aspect , he found the time to produce and remix with stars such as David Bowie, Metallica, The Beastie Boys and Public Enemy, among others, and also put soundtracks to films such as Heat, Any Given Sunday, Tomorrow Never Dies and The Beach.
It´s an honor and privilege to have Moby in Space Ibiza!
Moby, Tuesday 28 July - Carl Cox JOIN OUR REVOLUTION, Space Ibiza

This time the award was collected by David Guetta, who said "Space was the temple of electronic music."
In 2009, at a gala held at the Kapital Hall in Madrid, Space Ibiza was elected 'Best Spanish Club of 2008' by readers of Deejay magazine.

Grace Jones at Space Ibiza
Grace Jones... Andy Warhol's muse & catwalk diva, a regular at Studio 54... Grace Jones' name has survived almost 20 years of recording studio silence thanks to a meticulously maintained and striking image that took full advantage of her ambiguity and androgyny, and which made her an essential icon of the 1980s. The so-called Black Panther returns to the international arena with a new album, "Hurricane", which is aimed 100% at the dancefloor – she really wouldn't have it any other way. The new Grace Jones prowls stealthily to the beat of techno and jungle, and makes her return backed by a list of associates and remixers to takes your breath away, which includes Brian Eno, Sly and Robbie and Tricky.
Come see Grace Jones Sunday 9th August, only at Space Ibiza... We Love... You!
Safehouse has the answers
Join Our Revolution’s promoter Safehouse speak to us about Carl Cox’s night at Space Ibiza, summer 2009
What can you tell us about Carl Cox´s nights this summer at SPACE IBIZA?
Well the Carl Cox at Space revolution has been in motion for some years now, through completely diverse line-ups, presenting DJs of different genres, the best in their field, working the same dancefloor. But this year we’re marking a change in direction from traditional Ibiza line-ups. This year’s about breaking down musical barriers and presenting a new way of thinking about DJ talent, production and lighting. And as always with Carl Cox at Space events, the night is one of the cheapest on the island.
Moby, Sasha, Dubfire, John Digweed and others big names will be DJing alongside new talented DJs. What was the concept of this idea, and who are the young artists?
There are still the big names but this year, for the first time, there is extra emphasis on new talent, with new DJs, new music and new production. We have the likes of Nicole Moudaber, Alex Metric, Joel Mull, DJ Lucca, Steve Mulder, Ferhat Albayrak and Jon Rundell. If we don’t push new talent what happens in five years time?.. We have to embrace & support the best of the new breed.
This year will be Carl Cox´s 8th season at SPACE IBIZA, and without a doubt is still the king of Tuesdays in Ibiza. Where is his strength? What makes him so special and loved in Ibiza and around the world?
I think it’s a real connection with the crowd that makes his performances so special – total entertainment. The fact that you can catch Carl each week playing his infamous terrace sets, followed by a closing set in the main room is something special. The guests he invites to play alongside him is what makes the night what it is, but the crowd are so receptive to Carl – his energy and enthusiasm. It is truly infectious.
What has playing at Space Ibiza meant to Carl Cox?
It means everything to Carl. Space has been home to his nights for 8 years now. It is truly one of the best clubs in the world. The set up, the lighting, production, staff (thank you all!) and of course the people that visit make Space a truly amazing place for Carl to host his nights.
So, what dates should we definitely go too?
All of them!... We have an amazing mix of guests, from our up-and-coming new breed DJs to our returning guests, who always play amazing sets that never fail to please the crowd. The closing party of 22nd September is set to be one hell of a party too, with a very special Carl Cox extended set. If last years closing is anything to go by, this is not one to be missed.
We Love Space Sundays
The French music scene has found its, unexpected, second wind with this French disco duo. They´re back with a new on-stage style, leaving behind electro-clash, unmasking a perfectly accessible, more elegant, more mature and more distinct - yet, still pop - side.
Caroline Hervé (a.k.a. Miss Kittin) and Michel Amato (a.k.a. The Hacker) met in Grenoble during the early 90s at a rave. For many people of their generation, techno is a musical and cultural slap in the face. The two friends both buy decks and become DJs. Their notoriety, essentially on a national scale, grows little by little. In 1996, the French label, Tekmics, asked Miss Kittin to write a track for a compilation. She turned to The Hacker for help (he is already producing tracks under the XMF project and techno themes on his own). The Miss Kittin & The Hacker duo sees the light of day. Their first track is called "Gratin Dauphinois". Others are soon to follow…
At the end of the summer of 2002, electroclash reaches its peak. Miss Kittin & The Hacker are at their summit. It's here that they decide to call it a day. "We were knackered, we needed to take a break, take time out for other projects and not tie ourselves down to one musical style", admits The Hacker. Many spoke of a split, not true. "We never separated, we just took a long break" grins Miss Kittin.
2007 and they´re back... with disco theme “Hometown” and “Dimanche” a darker minimal techno sounds influenced by the 1990s raves.
New for 2008 and 2009 "revisited" and new tunes ("Belgium", "PPPO" or the superb cover of Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds")... An initial and tempting appetiser to their new album and forthcoming tour that will, undoubtedly, be one of THE great electronic music events of 2009.
See them LIVE at Space Ibiza... 28 June at We Love!
The next appointment with Miss Kittin, on August 23 at The Terrace sharing booth with Steve Lawler, Paul Woolford, Alex Smol (live) and Alex Wolfenden.
