The most awaited party of the summer, where the most passionate lovers of dance music will gather up to wish a farewell to this great season for which has prepared a never seen before production that will be impregnated in the minds of the audience for years!

L´Arena di Verona foundation has forged the Opera Oscar in a ceremony that took place in the Roman theater of Verona on the 31st of August, with the aim of organising one each year to reward the best voices of past and present.
In a tribute to the great myths of the history of lyrics, Renata Tebaldi, the best voice of all times, was awarded the International Opera Oscar 2010, for which Pepe Roselló was assigned to collect in her name with a fervent verse dedicated to the memory of this great Diva.
“I take this Oscar with the same affection of all those who love Renata and her extraodinary voice which we see here conmemorated for her greatness in this magical night” This Oscar has travelled to Ibiza for a very specific purpose; Pepe Roselló is the vice-president of the comitee that manages the cultural and artistic legacy of Renata Tebaldi and her Oscar will return back to the Museum of the castle of Torecciara in Parma.
And why has the Oscar travelled to Ibiza? Space Beach Club S.A. is recognised as the temple of contemporary music. Pepe Roselló states absolutely convinced that music is a universal culture which brings people together, braking frontiers and uniting cultures, race and colours; Music creates the same emotions in all of us, making us One.
If Renata Tebaldi has been the best voice of the entire history of Opera, Carl Cox is the best DJ of the past 25 years; an artist that without doubt is the master of electronic music, leaving a firm and permanent trail behind his career.
Nothing better than to organise an intimate ceremony, in the company of close friends the Space Ibiza team, Pepe Roselló honourifically passed on the Oscar to Carl Cox, as symbol of the unity between all music genres which fuse in one.
“Music has a moral value which gives soul to the universe, brings fantasy and imagination to thought, catalyst of joy that brings live to things”…

At the lead will be outstanding Josh Wink; experienced dj, producer, owner of a well-known label and remixer; considered one of the most relevant of the US for his breath-taking sets and productions. Josh started at the early age of 13 djing at small parties where he developed his eclectic style combining acid, house, techno, drum´n´bass and experimental sounds. It was not until after productions like “Higher State of Consciousness”, “Don´t Laugh” and “I´m Ready”, which quickly became club anthems, that he achieved worldwide recognition and success. His first album “Left Above the Clouds”, released in 1996, received very good criticism and soon after brought out another titled “Herehear”, this time with a much more personal touch. It was in 1988 when Wink came across Dj King Britt with whom he released “Tribal Confusion” also known as E-Culture, becoming a true classic of underground house music within the US, consequently, leading to numerous bookings nation wide. In addition to his career as dj, Wink created his own label OVUM Recordings together with fellow King Britt. The Space Gasifred Ibiza City team, competing under the Spanish Indoor Football silver league, has surprised everybody with their new innovative outfits, which carry photograph pictures of distinct paradisiacal sightings of the island of Ibiza integrated in each player’s numeration.

Until now these outfits have only been used in 2 of the pre-season warm ups the team has played; likewise, these outfits will only be used in situations where the team believes there is a potential to promote the island touristically, as they declared.

This new innovative design had already been previously employed for a short period of time by the Societat Esportiva Eivissa team, as well as by the Benidorm football club which plays on the Spanish 3rd division; it has now been introduced into indoor football.

Fans may purchase these items on request, choosing the number and picture they prefer.

Rejekt Space Ibiza Residency

It is with great pride that we can announce, as of Wednesday 1st September Iain Taylor and his merry band of rEJEKTS will be appearing every Wednesday & Friday @ Space, Ibiza, culminating with their sets as part of the closing weekend “fiesta” on the 2nd & 3rd of October.
Iain Says “After 5 seasons and too much fun to mention throwing parties all over the island, it really feels like we’ve found a home here with Space” I’ve been coming to Ibiza since 1994 as a clubber but it wasn’t until a 2005 that I actually felt that what we do as DJs and Artists could really be understood out here. I’m glad I took the chance though as it’s been life changing, when I think back to how the Island was on my first few visits, to how things are now, it’s amazing what has happened. The Underground really has risen up and taken control, the quite revolution, but not so quite in this sense, quieter than tanks and guns (only just) and a bit more drawn out than most revolutions but far less aggressive and that’s the important thing.
When I first thought of putting on parties over here, Underground was the obvious choice, we needed start off in a small club to build something organically! I love that venue and the parties they were throwing with MR C and Craig Richards and the vibe they managed to create by refusing to advertise. At that time we didn’t even have a record label or any releases to promote, we just knew that something could work in Ibiza and it did. We had some great times working with Underground and it was a great launch pad for us to be able to start throwing our “off the radar” villa parties. Space is definitely my favourite of Ibiza’s super clubs! I had been coming every time that I had been to Ibiza, mainly for We Love on Sundays with a few exceptions to go and check out some of the Carl Cox or La Communidad line ups but it wasn’t until I had to the chance to play for We Love in 2006 that I actually thought something could work for us in that venue. I’d always loved the place, especially the Redbox and La Terraza, the way the whole place flows is unique, not only in Ibiza but the rest of the world. It’s this which gives you the added feeling of Freedom and the ability to move around with ease which is missing from so man other clubs, also the fact that it now takes place over 6 different arenas, the place is constantly improving and expanding which I like. We began to work more with We Love and also Carl Cox and carried on with the parties at Underground and the more off the radar stuff, we even, in true rEJEKT fashion got on board with the Zoo Project and helped them start up, playing most of the time for next to nothing and even getting involved with the promotion side of things to try and help them out (you reap what you sow and all that). I was having a lot of fun and really enjoying most of what we were achieving but I am a bit of a perfectionist.
I really wanted to start taking things to the next level and start to take more control over how and where we played.
It was at the end of last season that I made the decision to only do our own events for the foreseeable future in Ibiza. We started to look at which venues might be available to us and at this point, I have to thank Mark Broadbent from We Love for putting me in contact with the owners of Space, in what was, in my opinion a very open minded, kind and genuine approach to helping someone whom other promoters might have seen as potential competition. Mark has it right when he says “It’s the competition that keeps us on our toes Iain” and that is one of the reasons that We Love is still without doubt one of the best parties on the Island.
We negotiated the date of Friday 4th June to put on our first ever rEJEKT event at Space and it was decided that as it was a low season date and the week after the closing parties that we would just open La Terraza and El Salon. Space also kindly booked us to programme the Redbox on Wednesday July 21st as part of their midweek baby Kehakuma.
I was really happy with the 4th June line up, it is precisely the kind of artists we like to represent, people who are pushing new boundaries and have really started to make a name for themselves. A mix of local and international, cutting edge and established. These were Markus Fix (Cocoon, Cecille, Oslo), Motor City Drum Ensemble (Four Roses), Jose De Divina (Circo Loco / Climatic Sound) who we surrounded them our favourite homegrown talent in Ellesse & Pete Zorba (Kaluki Music), MITA, Uberlube, MIMO, Boris and the ever charismatic Zander. These boys deliver the goods for us every time and all bring with them a cool crowd of friendly, clued up and enthusiastic clubbers. The vibe was fantastic all night long.

It really felt like we had taken rEJEKTS to the next level in Ibiza after this. Over 2200 people came and partied their asses off to one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard in a club, every artist was on top form but Markus Fix absolutely smashed it with the whole terrace eating out of his hands by the time he took his bow, which unfortunately marked the start of my set! I have had to take to the decks after most of the world’s biggest DJs in my time, I’ve played alongside the majority of the cooler side of the top 200. This was one of those nights where I really had to dig deep!

Lots of our Ibiza friends came to support us, The We Love guys, Zoo Project, Circo Loco, Cocoon and lots of our friends and fellow DJs came down to see what it was all about. . . . Eyebrows were raised, something new could be happening here. . .

On the 21st July we programmed 3 good friends of ours in Darius Syrossian & Nyra and Pete Zorba to play alongside us in the Redbox. Again, there was a great vibe and we had a queue out of the door of our room all night long. By this point Ibiza was in full swing and our summer diary was almost fully booked but with a bit of date juggling and some favours from understanding promoters back in the UK, we have managed to free up most of September and secure the Redbox every Wednesday and Friday. Check the line ups, they are ridiculous.

In the end it seems Ibiza will be able to experience Paul Kalkbrenner´s acclaimed live set as part of the party with greatest expectations in the season, “Space Closing Fiesta” on Sunday October 3rd.

Paul Kalkbrenner has leaped to fame after starring in and producing the soundtrack of “Berlin Calling”, a film which has become object of devotion and cult among techno lovers around the planet. But if we actually take a minute to look into this German producer´s background we will find that he has been out and about for the last 15 years, producing and extraordinary live set exhibitions having very clear from beginning of the 90´s that he did not want to be the tipical dj playing tracks from other djs, he wanted to offer his own music.

His first tracks were edited in 1999 under Ellen Allien´s Bpitchcontrol label. His first EP was named “Friedrichsahain” to which followed subsequent singles and 2 “full lengths” called “Superimpose” and “Time” which together with his continuous live sets drew the German press´s attention leading to releases in popular specialised reviews such as Spex and De:Bug, which contributed in making him internationally known, consequently beginning to djing worldwide.

It was not until 2004 that he strongly defined his unique style in releasing his third album “Self”, impregnating emotions in his beats, but without forgetting the music is directed to dancefloors. His next single “Gebrün Gebrün”, edited the following year became a club hit forcing all the best techno DJS to carry a copy with them, where ever they go.

In 2006 film director, Hannes Stöhr decided to contact him with an idea, he wanted to produce a film about a techno Musician and he wanted Paul to produce the soundtrack, later on he decided that he wanted him, not just to produce the music, but to stair in his film as main artist. They came up with the title together “Berlin Calling”. Paul also spent more than have a year, together with his friend and label commrade Sasha Funke, producing the soundtrack in the south of France.

Once back in the cold and cloudy Berlin, completely focused on the project, he came up with the song “Sky and Sand”, in which his brother Fritz sang the lyrics, becoming this another club anthem braking record sales.

Berlin Calling saw its premier broadcast in German cinemas in October 2008, captivating espectators and critics for reflecting the world´s techno capital club scene so dearly and the dangers to those who pursue these dreams.

This year Paul Kalkbrenner has began a live set tour throughout 12 major cities in the World, already selling more than 50000 tickets in less than a few weeks.

Paul Kalkbrenner will be performing for first time in Ibiza, bringing his live act to the Space Ibiza closing fiesta – “The End of the weekend Invasion” on Sunday October 3rd in “La Discoteca”.
