The 27 Year Anniversary Celebration

After 2016 Ibizan clubbing will never be the same again
Come celebrate with us and be part of clubbing history

24th July
Space 27th Anniversary

Full Line Up TBA

27 is an important age, it is when a handful of ultra talented and beautiful artists came to a premature and striking end – like Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Jimi Hendrix, Space Ibiza now joins the famous 27 Club. It exits the scene that it has helped to build, looking amazing, full of energy and at the top of its game in the world.

It all began with club visionary Pepe Rosello who first launched the club in 1989, this was during the second ‘Summer Of Love’, the year that Ibiza as we know it was being born, and the year that dance music took hold of youth culture across the world. Since then the club has grown, has changed many times and countless legendary club moments have been lived.  Pepe ultimately cultivated and crafted one of the world’s most respected and revered venues universally loved by clubbers and DJs alike.

Now this summer will be your final chance to say ‘you were there’, that you danced on the legendary terrace and were blown away with the sheer atmosphere of the main room. What better place to do this but at its 27th and final anniversary on July 24th 2016.

Lest we forget, it was here that clubbers first famously cheered every arriving aircraft that used to roar above their heads on the famous terrace, this was to become Space Ibiza’s defining feature for many years until the terrace was ultimately covered over.

It still stands as the world’s most awarded club to date and is known for its unrivalled atmosphere, sound and spectacular production. Few can contest that the sound system is one of the most sonically perfect in the world. Over the years the venue has showcased and introduced the scene’s best known and respected techno and house DJs and this seasons line up is one of the strongest in its 27-year history.

At the anniversary you will find an unrivalled and varied line up that willl be announced shortly  This is your last chance to get involved and share in a historic moment of clubbing culture.

If there is a strong tradition for the clubbers it is that "the Ibiza season starts with the Space Opening Fiesta". And so, the world's most awarded club is marking this tradition religiously in the calendar of millions of clubbers who come to the island from all parts of the world.

The start of the 2016 season, for both the island as for Space, has-also a key component added, is that this was the last grand opening of the club and with this the beginning of what will be the season -without doubt- the most epic of Space Ibiza.

To all of you, to all who joined us on Sunday 29th May -and all those who will do it for the season-, thanks! Thanks for being part of the legend.

The eighth edition of the International Music Summit, held in Ibiza from 25 to 27 May, has had as great protagonist Pepe Rosello.

On May 25, there was a round table composed by the owner and founder of Space Ibiza, who also was accompanied by DJ Carl Cox and music manager Lynn Cosgrave. Under the title "SPACE: THE END OF AN ERA"  led by Grego O'Halloran, was full of stories about the beginnings of Space and Carl Cox at the club.

Pepe Rosello, during the conversation, with great diplomacy spoke about his views on the current state of the music industry in Ibiza and recalled the prohibitions suffered when he was forced to cover the terrace and also closed parties day. In addition, Rossello insisted: "Now the music goes everywhere because this custom absurd installed anywhere that music should prevail over any other feeling that people want to look and that is a fundamental error." Thus, the founder of Space made clear his personal opinion, considering that music have to listen in a suitable environment and is not lawful that not, in fact, Pepe Rosello considers that to do otherwise is to "popularize" music.

On the other hand, that same night, Pepe Rosello received the "Legend" award during an honorary dinner held on the terrace of Space. Garlardón that has been delivered in past editions names like Nile Rodgers, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong and Carl Cox.

Regarding Pepe Rosello, Ben Turner, said:.. "Closing Space, the club created and directed by Pepe Rosello, means the end of an era for Ibiza Island will be another island to Space The passion and love of Pepe for music is always materialized in the club. He was the only owner of a club to which the public received with the same fervor as the DJ. Pepe has done much to Ibiza, creative and politically, and that certainly deserves this recognition from the music industry and IMS"
