CARL’S LAST EVER NIGHT AT SPACE!

The time has finally come…Next Tuesday, 20th September Carl Cox plays Space Ibiza for the final ever time, bringing an explosive and triumphant end to a record 15 year residency at the iconic Ibiza club.

Carl had already confirmed he’ll he playing a mammoth 10 hour set to close his residency, but now he’s also confirmed the set will be played using both vinyl and digital – the old with the new.

Carl: “At the start of my residency, of course I only played vinyl but now everything is digital and has been for some years. I wanted to take things back and pay homage to all those years at Space spinning records. I want to show respect to those older tunes, dig out some of my old vinyl and play them alongside new tunes. A lot of the crowd probably won’t have even heard them before, so it’s a way of showing the music is still relevant. I thought it was a fitting way to say goodbye.

“I also want people to know I can still DJ with vinyl and make the house rock! This music has been my life and I want to share it one last time at Space.”

And what about the final track he’ll play? “I do have a pile of records for the closing records, but what’s going to happen is as soon as they say ‘this is going to be the last record, Carl’, it isn’t going to be the last record as they are going to want another record and another record. It could be the defining track but it might not be. But whatever I play, they are all going to be tear jerkers.”

Carl’s final season has proved to be his most popular yet, with every single night selling out – a record attendance, which continues with the closing party, which is already sold out. It’s going to be a momentous night, with clubbers witnessing a bit of Ibiza history as Carl says good bye to 15 years at Space. But for those not lucky enough to get hold of ticket, BE-AT.TV will be there live streaming the whole night, ensuring Carl’s fans across the world can tune in for this historic finale.

Expect some serious tunes, lots of love, laughter, dancing and tears…

Following a one-week hiatus, Glitterbox returned in style on Friday night, packing an all-star line-up fit for any occasion. Returning for his second consecutive week was David Morales, alongside MAW legend Kenny Dope, Black Motion, Eli Escobar and John Morales, who looked after the Sunset Terrace for 5 hours straight.

Warming up the Terrace was one of New York’s finest disco-house DJs Eli Escobar, who recently released his second studio album ‘Happiness’ on Classic Music Company. The energy was raised a level after that, with South African duo Black Motion making their Glitterbox and Space Ibiza debut, bringing through an incredibly unique and uplifting performance. House master Kenny Dope was up next for his final Glitterbox outing of the summer, once again delivering a masterclass in mixing old and new house records. Dave Morales closed the Terrace to a euphoric crowd, showcasing his presence and skills behind the decks, from start to finish.

The glitter had fallen on yet another special night on the Terrace, but next week is well and truly in our minds, with another stellar line-up. Dimitri From Paris heads up proceedings, with support from Tensnake, DJ Spen, Fred Everything and Luke Solomon. You’d be a fool to miss it…

Following the final performances of the season from Kenny Dope and Dave Morales last weekend, Week 11 at Glitterbox is all about firsts, with the exception of the ever-brilliant Dimitri From Paris. Joining him on the Terrace for their first performances of the season will be Tensnake, DJ Spen, Fred Everything and Luke Solomon.

SPACE CLOSING FIESTA - 2nd OCTOBER 2016

Space Closing Fiesta 2016 Lineup

In 1989, When Pepe Roselló, founder and owner of Space Ibiza, took the controls of Space Ibiza, it seemed crazy. Playa d'en Bossa -aimed to familiar tourism, was far away from the nightlife established in other areas of the island.

That year, in Ibiza, the place where it all began, a new a definitive space was to be established for this purpose. It could only happen in a club which would offer —from its very conception- a different musical, sensorial, and even pararel dimension. A club in which  dreams could be made real.

Ten years after its birth, Space Ibiza became a super club and the terrace was crucial for the year ’99, in which the English club “Home” negotiated with Pepe to take part in Space’s Sundays, the club strongest session.  Thus, Sundays were about to turn into 22 hours marathons, from 8am on Sunday to 6am on Monday, offering an incredible day-night festival as never seen before on the island.

Over the years, the club has become the most awarded worldwide, receiving awards until this last year (Best Club in the World - DJ Mag 2016). Numerous clubbers, year after year, come religiously to Space. And It is well known that the season in Ibiza starts with the opening of the club, and similarly, the season on the island just ends when the club closes its doors.

It’s the moment

We have 27 years of unforgettable history, we agree that this has been a short time , but we know that these will live in the memory of all forever : the legendary Terrace, dancing during the day, raising arms under the roar of the aircraft, Carl Cox mind-blowing  sets , Sundays at Space ... and each and every one of them always with music as a companion.

Well, it's time to celebrate the end of these 27 years. Some have dubbed this phenomenon as "the end of an era", but we prefer to talk about new beginnings and new horizons, because what is clear is that the Legend starts here:

2nd OCTOBER 2016 – SPACE CLOSING FIESTA

Carl Cox and Tale Of Us have already confirmed their set that will be the last Space Closing Fiesta of the history. Of course, the line-up for the end of the big final will be magical . Soon, they will continue confirming names ... meanwhile, ensures you will be there , without doubt you can't miss it.

Happy Birthday Carl!

Carl Cox Birthday 26-07-2016Carl Cox Birthday 26-07-2016Carl Cox Birthday 26-07-2016

The name Carl Cox is synonymous with Space Ibiza. The man is not only the clubs most loyal DJ but also the most loved by the clubbers. People come from around the world to dance to the beat of this mentor and founder of the now famous phrase “Oh yes… Oh yes!”. In addition, both for the club itself and for the founder Pepe Rosello, Carl has for a long time been considered a member of the family.

Year after year, the birthday of Carl Cox has been a very special event and we celebrate it in style together with the visitors of Space. On this occasion, Pepe Rosello drove Carl to the main door of the club in a special Seat 600 from 1965. It’s very small but iconic car and without doubt an image that will be remembered forever.

People who waited to enter the club were astonished to see Pepe and Carl driving to the main door in a tiny car while greeting everyone who was waiting to get in to the party. Pepe made sure that he stopped the car and lets people take selfies with them.

The entrance was covered in red carpet which welcomed Carl like a Hollywood movie star while he was walking into the club, all the time accompanied by Pepe Roselló. He was greeted by a corridor flanked by Space staff holding torches and dressed in t-shirts with slogan of Space’s 27th anniversary printed on them.

Later, in the main room, when Carl took to the controls during his “The Last Chapter of Music is Revolution” (every Tuesday at Space Ibiza). Pepe Rosello wanted to honor him by singing “Happy Birthday” so when he did the audience cheered them both and celebrated yet another birthday of one of the most beloved DJs on the planet.

We turn 27!

27aniversario-poster-LINEUP_-_copia.png

This is your last chance to get involved and share in a historic moment of clubbing culture

The 27th and final anniversary of arguably one of the world’s most influential clubs is upon us. Space Ibiza announces the line up that will bring its long time residents and guests together for this historic moment in time and one huge celebration on the night.

Bringing in talent from across the world to showcase the varied electronic music sound of Space, look out for special perfomances from Do Not Sleep resident Darius Syrossian, plus London production duo Dusky, British house pioneer Richy Ahmed, the Parisian Technasia and Hot Creation’s very own wAFF.

You will also find residents and guests in the form of Igor Marijuan (Ibiza Sonica Radio), brothers Lloyd and Kevin K.E.E.N.E and to add a little something into the mix check out the Hip Hop inspired Real El Canario.

Since 1989, Space Ibiza has been regarded as the world’s dancehall, where clubbers from every nation come together to dance. It still retains the original values of Ibiza, love, togetherness and appreciating the ever changing sounds of the underground. We think Ibiza will never be the same after Space.

The 27th anniversary is a great time to say ‘I was there’, dance on the legendary terrace and pay homage to an original venue that made Ibiza the place that it is today.
