Space Ibiza Closing Party: What a spectacle! Featured

Space Closing Party 2009Against the vagaries of weather, Space Ibiza overcame all obstacles and confirmed that no element is capable of shading its convening power.

The Flight Arena was the epicenter of the party, which until midnight had a positively unbeatable production. Three levels on a stage lined with LED display Orbit, first brought to the Balearic Islands at the Space Ibiza Closing Fiesta'09. Beautiful dancers and an amazing performance from Sneaky Sound System. Australia´s DJ Angus, with vocalist Miss Connie was an appearance that you did not want to miss. Their melodies with an electro-dance-pop sound, and the powerful voice of Miss Connie was a superb start, their show was pure musical genius, definitely wants to watch for next year. After them we had more live music with rockers Pendulum, who then followed with Elio Riso. As always, Argentine DJ enjoyed his set, drawing from his bag of goodies tracks such as 'Enjoy the Silence' by Depeche Mode remixed by Ewan Pearson. James Zabiela played an amazing set that closed the Main Room. Guy Gerber on Sunday demonstrated again just why he is resident at Space Ibiza. Tiefschwarz, amazed us with his production, and Steve Lawler, one of the greatest DJs of progressive house, put a spectacular DJ set to the Flight Arena where earth, water, fire and air conspired to give rise to one of the greatest events we will never forget.

Miss Kittin was responsible for another major set of the closing party. Miss Kittin revolutionized the Terrace, she was joined with DJs Nick Curly, Hot Chip, Paul Woolford, Smokin Jo and Ian Blevins.

Sunset had international artists like Jonathan Ulysses, Andy Baxter, Jason Bye, Rob da Bank, alternated with Tom Novy Ibiza artists such as Oscar Cano, Ramón Castells and Alfredo. The living legend of electronic music, DJ Alfredo, climbed into the cockpit, accompanied by the drummer with whom he has formed in tandem at We Love. By late afternoon, Rebeka Brown took to the stage and the music became one with the crowd...

Premier étage was house music all night long... with artists such as Camilo Franco, our own Space Ibiza resident, who has been making waves this year with many gigs in the UK and abroad, Andy Carroll, and Jamie Valentine Huedo Fat Neck. Bruno from Ibiza, Ben Korbel and Jon Howell completed the lineup of this fabulous Space Ibiza event, so well known that everybody and everyone wants to live it and experience it.

Oscar Colorado was in the Red Box. The Red Box has become his natural habitat, a place to maximize expressive possibilities. Halfway between the Premier and the Main Room, the Red Box is a space to experiment and even improvise. Groovy, deep, minimal, tech-house. DJs on the night were Alexsi, Lewis Ryder, Eddie Vanderhiydn, Coley, Jem Haynes, Clive Henry and Ryan 0'Gorman, all gathered together in this kind of laboratory for avant-garde minimal tech house.

Jose Maria Ramon showcased a six-hour long set which showed why he is the director of programming at Ibiza Global Radio, and why he has been chosen for the compilation of Pschent Spring. Oriol Calvo, Paul Darey, Mr. Doris and Jonathan Gray completed the line-up in this Ibizan room.

Remo - The DJ and producer took command of the Main Room at six p.m. delighting the most demanding ears with one of those sessions with a minimal and melodic aura that characterizes him as an artist. After him was Chris Liebing, with a techno set, followed by David Phillips. Martin Buttrich preceded the genius of Detroit, Jeff Mills, with James Zabiela to end the show!

More than a party, Space Ibiza Closing was a festival... 7 rooms, over 50 artists, Foc i Fum and many, many hours of great music. Even with rain, Space Ibiza in Playa d'en Bossa triumphed. Nothing could put a dampner on this party!

Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed this festival of sound. See you in May 2010 for our opening party, where we will have many new surprises!

Space Ibiza Loves YOU!
