The Chemical Brothers & Space Ib Featured

The Chemical Brothers & Space Ibiza We Love continues its Space residency with a visit from The Chemical Brothers! Hot on the heels of Grace Jones, yet another global superstar makes the trip to the legendary Ibizan venue for another hair raising Sunday in the sun. Sunday 16 August will see Tom and Ed making an appearance at one of the world’s best venues for one of the world’s finest parties in what promises to be one of those defining Ibiza moments.

Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons fittingly met in history class at Manchester University in 1988, initially as the Dust Brothers and later as The Chemical Brothers they combined to contribute, in no small way, in the development of the dance music scene as we know it today. They have successfully crossed from the underground to the mainstream with ease without sacrificing any of their credibility in the process.

In the studio, The Chemical Brothers have been responsible for a slew of genre challenging, groundbreaking ranging from early tracks such as ‘Exit Planet Dust’, chart smashes such as ‘Hey Boy, Hey Girl’ and ‘Push The Button’, to collaborations such as Surrender, featuring vocals from Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie.

While there is no doubt that they have a unique ability when it comes to penning music, it’s on stage where the duo really come to the fore; equally at ease behind the decks of an intimate venue or headlining huge festivals in front of tens of thousands of fans.

Mark Broadbent, We Love Space director had this to say about The Chemical Brothers return,

“We Love… Space is the only place the Chemical Brothers will play due to our long standing relationship with them and their management, plus the fact that we asked every year for the last ten years. I think they thought it would be easier just to say yes and they did last year and once you have played for We Love there is no other party or venue to play in Ibiza.

“The Chems are noisy buggers maintaining a youthful sound and energy, producers of some of the finest acid house music to come out of the UK in the last 15 years, whether on remix duty or musicians in their own right they have delivered quality productions that are far ahead of the game. When a new Chemical Brothers tune comes along you can rest assured it will be the biggest tune of the summer at Space”.

Sunday 16 August gives you a chance to get up close and personal with one of the true greats of our scene, see you on the dancefloor!
