SPACE- Who is Camilo Franco?
CAMILO FRANCO- Is a DJ and producer, born in Bogotá. I grew up in a musical setting (environment), a good reason to explain my passion for music from then to now. I am in love with life. I enjoy making things, from the simplest ones to the most sophisticated. I enjoy eating good food, good wines, exotic places, sunrises and sunset, cocktails, beaches, travelling and discovering spots and cultures and, of course, I enjoy my family and friends. I could say I am a passionate person for music and life.
How would you define your musical style?
House Music.
What DJ do you admire/like, or has been influential in your career?
Louie Vega and Erick Morillo.
How did you get into DJing/electronic music?
From when I was a teenager. I started first with hip-hop and rap and then, at 19 years old, I discovered electronic music.
What´s your relationship with Space?
Thanks to Carlos Criado, a really good friend of mine and a big house music lover I started playing individual days, and then I had my first opening, right up until today.
What are you doing now? Tell us about your current projects or your most recently achievements?
As producer, I am making remixing for important artists and working in my own tracks. As DJ I am on tour around Indonesia, I was in WMC playing for Radio FG alongside Space Ibiza and Nikki Beach and I will be at Space Ibiza 2009 and in another tour for Indonesia and Malaysia.
What else do you like apart from music? Share your interests with us?
Go to the cinema, eat well, be with my family… I think I’ve told everything I like already.
The best musical moment in your life was…
There are two. The first was when I played for the first time at Space Ibiza with the terrace pack of people and a committed crowd. The second was at my studio, recording a Grace Jones Remake, at last unpublished. It was full of music everywhere. Amazing!
