REBELLIOUS, RIPPED-UP AND ROCKING Featured

Back on form this week with headliners Jaguar Skills, The Warriors and Jacob Plant, Beat & Raw turns up the temperature with an eclectic mix of artists.

Terrorist of dubstep Jaguar Skills is best known not just for his one-of-a-kind dub-step, inspired in other musical styles like drum and bass and hip-hop, but for the fact that he’s a mysterious figure, wearing a ninja mask during every performance.

His inimitable style has undoubtedly amassed him even more followers this summer during his residency at Space Ibiza yet while he might have a slightly scary demeanour, ask him how he feels about playing in the Best Global Club and he gushes: “My dream has come true! I feel very lucky indeed! The sound system and lighting rigs are absolutely world class. You definitely feel like a superstar DJ when you play there. It was my dream ever since I started DJing in Ibiza to play in Space.”

Delving a little deeper, Jaguar reveals that his influences come from early hip-hop DJs and “the way they would cut and blend tunes in the mix very quickly”. “I guess my style is a hip hop style - but instead of playing hip hop I play electronic music. Musically, I love everything from house to drum and bass and I reflect that in my sets.

Jacob Plant is also back this week and has already publically declared he can’t wait to get on the decks at Space again. The gifted artist started making music at only 13 and is now slowly but steadily becoming a major force on the dance scene at just 21 years of age. Already a respected and widely hyped producer he has worked with and remixed a whole host of household names, including Jay Z & Kanye West, Tinie Tempah, Modestep, Major Lazer, Benny Benassi, Skepta, Oh Land and Rita Ora to name just a few.

Spanish duo The Warriors completes the headliners this week with a set fusing electro and dubstep with potentially some rock, drumstep, drum’n’bass, and even metal thrown in the mix. Whatever these guys decide to throw out, we guarantee it will shine.

Ramon Castells, Daisy Heartbreaker and Oscar Cano complete the line-up for this week which as always at Beat & Raw, will be a bag of explosive surprises.
